I've been on vacation. Really.
Just before vacation I was asked to begin writing my first chapter. The first chapter of my thesis. I then immediately left the country to begin a month long period of procrastination. Which is not to say that I haven't thought about exactly what I'd like to be writing, but I think it was necessary to step away from Stratford-upon-Avon and give myself a well-deserved break. I am now less than a week away from being back and I'm a little scared, excited, nervous, nauseous, and itching to get back to work. Given that I did not feel this way a month ago, I feel that this break was a good thing.
In other news, I'll have a supervision at the end of January (two weeks after I'm back) wherein I'll be submitting an example of my work for my supervisors to see, evaluate, criticize, and eventually berate me for. My day in the sunshine is over I suspect, I must now resign myself to the deep dark dungeons of research libraries and the cheerless stacks of Shakespearean theatre history I must sort through.
But first I need to physically return to the UK.
